Ugomma Olivia Ekwem
Ugomma Olivia Ekwem is a legal, technology, and corporate advisory professional with demonstrated competence in providing strategic legal support, delivering practical business solutions, and rendering tactical guidance to clients on complex regulatory and commercial subjects. Her legal interests cut across intellectual property; media, entertainment, and technology; financial technology; tax technology; robot taxation; data protection and data privacy; prompt engineering regulatory systems and best practices; space law; robotics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence law; corporate services; government and regulatory services; and governance, risk, and compliance services. Prior to joining Phoenix Attorneys as an Associate, Ugomma served as the Head of Legal and General Secretary at a startup travel management company in Nigeria. She further served as a legal counsel at the Federal Ministry of Justice Headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria. Beyond her professional pursuits in law, Ugomma demonstrates strong technical skills in digital visual orchestration and technology-driven communications. She is a talented graphics designer, photo editor, and digital imaging expert dedicated to consistently delivering innovative solutions that blend precision with aesthetic appeal.
Ugomma holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the University of Nigeria, where she graduated among the top performing students in her class with a Second Class Honours (Upper Division). She replicated this feat at the Nigerian Law School, where she obtained her legal practice qualifying certificate (BL) with a Second Class Honours (Upper Division). She further holds a professional certification in Fundamentals of Graphics Design. Ugomma is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), where she actively participates in the activities of the Young Lawyers Forum (YLF). She aims to develop a diverse and impactful career, leveraging her unique blend of legal expertise and design sensibility to make a lasting impact in law and technology through innovation, adaptability, and unwavering dedication to excellence.
